How to choose a ramp?

Not sure which MTB ramp is right for you? Our guide and MTB Hopper comparison table break down the key features to make your decision.

Define what skill level you currently are and pick a ramp which suits your needs within your skill level.

BEGINNER - a complete beginner to bike jumps. Almost never did any jumps and did not feel confident on regular bike trails.
AMATEUR - already did some jumps. Feeling more confident with bike and small air time. Understands how to control body during the small-medium jumps.
PROFESSIONAL - can do jumps confidently. Knows a trick or two.

Note: using PAD or MINI PAD landings allows you to use ramp one level higher than your existing level. Example: if your skill level is beginner, then you can pair landing with ramp for 'Amateur' skill level.

Having a landing area for your jumps is helping to progress faster and safer.

Landing on flat ground is OK as long as jump height and speeds are low, however, after few jumping sessions it becomes not pleasant to continue.

Natural landings. Great experience on jumps will be achieved while placing ramp before a natural slope. Finding suitable slope is a challenge of its own. Mellow jump angle benefits from mellow landing, while steeper jumps are convenient to land on steeper landings.

MINI PAD and PAD landings.
Most of MTB Hopper ramps are designed to work perfectly with landing pads. Pairing suitable ramp and landing helps to practice safe landing absolutely anywhere. Modulate speeds, change gap sizes, learn to land safely, avoid casing and damaging your bike. Integrated shock absorption helps to protect your body as well as your bike. Using MINI PAD and PAD landings guarantees fastest, safest progression and helps you to befriend gaps.
